Why Probiotics are a Must-Have for Our Newest Little Lady!

This post is sponsored by Evivo, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

We recently welcomed our third little lady to the family and are happily soaking up that newborn magic. But as much as I love the newborn stage, there are some challenges that come with it too… hello sleepless nights, unexplained fussiness, etc., etc., etc.!

I remember all too well when we had our first, pacing the floors of our home, rocking our beautiful, but colicky baby girl and spending hours researching how to help relieve her gas/fussiness and heal her eczema. (Oh what I wish I knew back then!)

Fast forward to this year, after being on a heavy round of antibiotics shortly after delivering sweet Isla for a bad case of mastitis, our newest little lady started showing those telltale signs of tummy trouble. After speaking with our pediatrician, we started her on Evivo Infant Probiotics (which I fell in love with when Everly was a baby – you can read about our experience HERE and HERE).

Here are some recent survey results from moms giving their baby Evivo:

65% of moms report a decrease in colic symptoms, such as gassiness and fussiness, after giving baby Evivo.

52% notice baby’s nighttime sleep is longer/more consistent

64% notice less/no gas or fussiness

71% notice less/no diaper rash

Short term? Evivo helps alleviate tummy troubles and some of those newborn challenges that stem from a disrupted gut. But what about long term?

Clinically Proven

One of the things I appreciate about Evivo are the clinical studies, links and information available. I am a huge researcher and love discovering natural ways to help keep my family happy and healthy.

Evivo Clinical Trial:

In a clinical trial, Evivo was proven to restore good bacteria to baby’s gut microbiome 100% of the time. Babies given Evivo showed: 80% reduction in potentially harmful bacteria such as E. coli, clostridia, Staph and Strep; those babies who did not receive Evivo had more than 4 times the level of these potentially harmful bacteria versus the babies given Evivo.

Prior to my research and finding Evivo, I had no idea that more than 90% of babies lack B. infantis, the only strain of good bacteria that digests the special nutrients found in breast milk and protects baby’s gut. This good bacteria used to be passed on by mothers during childbirth, but over the last century, scientists and health professionals have discovered it has been missing in baby’s gut  – likely due to the increased use of C-sections and antibiotics.

With this healthy bacteria missing, your baby could be at a higher risk for colic, allergies, diabetes, and eczema. Not to mention the fact that healthy immune function begins with a healthy gut – all the more reason to make sure our little one’s gut is in good working order.

How Evivo can help restore your baby’s gut microbiome

The good bacteria in Evivo, B. infantis EVC001, takes advantage of the unique relationship between a baby’s gut and breast milk. Breast milk nutrients, Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs), feed B. infantis, and the B. infantis helps transform the HMOs so they can serve as valuable nutrition for your baby. If baby doesn’t have B. infantis they cannot digest these nutrients and they’ll end up in baby’s diaper.

It is important to note that Evivo is the ONLY baby probiotic clinically proven to be 100% effective in restoring B. infantis to baby’s gut while reducing bad bacteria by 80%. Only Evivo contains B. infantis EVC001, a superior strain of B. infantis* clinically proven to create a protective environment in baby’s gut. This strain protects baby’s gut from bad bacteria and helps safeguard baby’s short and long-term health. (*B. infantis EVC001 out-performs other commercially-available B. infantis strains lacking important functions of the H5 cluster)

Having a healthy gut microbiome will set your baby up for a healthier future. So whether you are getting ready to welcome a baby or already have your sweet little one in your arms, establishing good gut health should be on your list of things to do! I highly encourage you to talk to your pediatrician about it, so they can help explain all the benefits of Evivo.
